AI consultant (freelance)
You observe on the shop floor, map processes and translate that into what needs to be built.
The core session is the heart of how Ubert works: a half-day walking the floor at a customer's site, so we see where the time really goes instead of working it out from a distance. For that we need people who feel equally at home in a warehouse, a workshop or an office, and who see the difference between what people say they do and what actually happens. You are the bridge between that shop floor and the people who will build it.
What you do
- You take part in core sessions: conversations with team leaders and with the people who do the work.
- You record which systems are running and where the manual work sits: retyping, searching, entering things twice.
- You co-write the core report: what can go, what it delivers, what it costs.
- You support staff as they start using what we build.

- You feel at home on a shop floor, whether that is a warehouse, a workshop or an office.
- You listen well and ask follow-up questions without making people feel they are being checked up on.
- You are comfortable with common office and business software and pick up new systems quickly.
- You write clear, plain Dutch.
Nice to have, not required
- Experience in one of the industries we work in.
- Knowledge of ERP, planning or inventory systems.
Your first assignment
You join a scheduled core session at an existing customer, together with someone who has done it several times before. You conduct some of the conversations yourself, record which systems are running and where the manual work sits, and co-write the core report. That way you learn how we look at things before you run a session yourself.
Pay
€35 to €65 per hour, depending on experience. Travel costs to customers are reimbursed.
The honest bit
- This is not a role in which you only advise. You are also there when something does not work out as hoped in practice and needs adjusting.
- You travel to customers. Working fully from home is not possible in this role.
Payment within fourteen days, no exclusivity, your own equipment and insurance, and you may send a replacement. All the agreements are set out under how we work with self-employed professionals.
