Which companies sit here — and what gets left undone

Job sheets: where it usually breaks down here

One process creaks the same way at company after company: the job sheet. An engineer or driver records what they did out on site, and someone in the office turns that into hours, materials and an invoice. Between those two steps there is almost always retyping.

The damage is not in those ten minutes per sheet. A sheet that only arrives on Friday gets invoiced on Monday. If materials are missing, nobody chases them up; that is margin leaking away quietly, and it shows up in no report.

What does work: let the sheet arrive the way it already arrives — photo, app, email, PDF — and have the system pull out the hours, the parts and the right order. A person only looks at what deviates. Small process, it comes back every week, and a mistake is visible straight away.

Boskoop and horticulture: seasonal peaks and paperwork

Boskoop is part of the municipality, and ornamental growing runs on a different rhythm to wholesale. The work comes in peaks: in spring and autumn they earn in weeks what has to carry the year. You do not automate there to save on staff, but so that peak can be absorbed without the admin falling weeks behind. That changes the order: order handling and export paperwork first, reporting later.

What we run into: order lists arriving as free text that have to be matched plant by plant, export paperwork and plant passports assembled again for every shipment, and stock that is standing in a field but is an estimate in the system. We do not solve that last one — you only know it once you count. We do make sure whatever you do know is not entered three times over.

Coming over from Bussum: how that works in practice

Where it goes wrong

At companies with a field service we keep seeing the same four failures. None of them has anything to do with AI.

• The field crew was never asked. A job-sheet process designed in the office does not get used in the van. Engineers keep filling in the old slip, and you gain a system instead of losing one. Here, this is the most common cause.
• No owner inside the company. Everyone finds it interesting, nobody is accountable. The project does not die, it disappears behind the rush of the season.
• Data that does not add up. Three part numbers for one product, the same customer entered twice, addresses in a free text field. Cleaning that up often fills the first weeks.
• A software vendor keeping the integration closed. With sector packages for installation, transport and horticulture that happens regularly. We check it before we build.

Working in English

Plenty of teams around here work in English, whether because the company is foreign-owned, the workforce is international, or export is the main business. We can run the whole thing in English: the intro call, the core session, the report and the documentation.

One honest caveat. Your own systems are often Dutch-only — accounting packages, sector software, supplier portals. We handle that, but if the output has to end up in Dutch for your customers or your accountant, say so at the start. The same goes for your suppliers: opening up an integration sometimes means a phone call in Dutch to a support desk that offers nothing else. We make that call for you.
